Our Wool Wash Bar is made with a high percentage of lanolin—the same natural oil that protects sheep in all weather. It gently cleanses wool fibers without stripping or felting, while conditioning them to stay soft and resilient.
Perfect for: Hand-knit sweaters, wool blankets, felted slippers, and any cherished woolen that deserves gentle care.
Ingredients: distilled water, coconut oil, responsibly harvested palm oil, olive oil, lye, lanolin, castor oil, and avocado oil.
Care tip: Use a soap dish to keep your bar dry between uses—it'll last even longer.
Directions:
- Place bar in bottom of a basin.
- Fill a basin with tepid water.
- Add garments.
- Remove soap bar. If doing a larger load, feel free to leave the soap in the water for the duration of soaking/washing.
- Set timer for 15-20 minutes.
- Swish clothes or press them against the side of the basin as needed. Avoid wringing wool.
- Drain.
- Rinse.
- If washing knits: lay flat to dry.

What makes this different from the Scented Woody and Earthy Wool Wash?
It's the same lanolin-rich wool wash formula, just without the added essential oil blend and without the coated paper storage box that comes with the Scented Woody and Earthy version.
Is it vegan?
No. It's made with a high percentage of lanolin, so it isn't vegan.
What does it smell like?
It's unscented – there's no added essential oil blend, though you may notice a very faint, natural lanolin scent.
Will it strip or felt my wool?
No. It's formulated specifically to cleanse wool fibers gently without stripping their natural oils or causing felting, and it conditions them to stay soft.
How many washes do I get from one bar?
It depends on load size and how long you leave it in the water, since the bar releases lanolin as it soaks. For a single hand-knit sweater or a few smaller woolens, most customers get many washes per bar.
